TOMEI POWERED is a family owned business. TOMEI POWERED was founded by Mr. Seiichi Suzuki back in 1968 when he initially formed TOMEI as a tuning factory for race cars back in 1968. It was established as TOMEI MOTORS CO LTD back then. TOMEI was soon recognised for it's technology, performance experience with their reliable high end race engines. TOMEI engines proved on the race track the power gains, overall performance and to durability. TOMEI then soon gained a large fan base and supporters for TOMEI grew quickly from end users to professional tuners and other engine builders in Japan. The TOMEI brand was then born through experience. With the new market trends & demands, motoring enthusiasts wanted better performance to suit the new modern lifestyle. This trend helped set the stage where originality can play an active part in the motor sports scene and personal motoring lifestyle. The "TOMEI" brand fed our latest technology back into the field in which we had received our results from various motor sports scene. TOMEI then offer reliable service to international visitors from various countries in the world and continued to support and evolve with the trends of modern motorsports demands and challenges. 

THE HISTORY OF TOMEI EXPLAINED

Continuing the Faith That Doesn't Change 
TOMEI POWERED (TOMEI MOTOR Inc.) Was founded as a company which specialized in professional racing by Seiichi Suzuki who was known as a driver for Nissan Motor Works in 1968. From that time Seiichi Suzuki who was also and excellent tuner helped to achieve high scoring results in numerous races and made many legends. Stories in which is still handed down as one of Japans historical race. We completed and have been involved in various competition levels from Touring cars to Formula Cars and the latest event D1GP series.

Our history has been in sync with the history of engine tuning. Together we have evolved to where we are at now. We have been here since the bare early days of Japanese engine tuning. We're here to stay and are willing to share our wealth of experience and knowledge to everyone in the world so that everyone can equally enjoy the benefits and rewards of this wonderful sport and industry. What we have learnt through our history from experience is the roots of our soul and technology behind the best engines that we make now. 

THE ENGINE SPECIALIST: The Endless Pursuit of Perfection 
In the very beginning Tomei started off as a racing constructor of Nissan type engines only and since day one Tomei have produced & tuned many racing engines. Each engine has its own characteristics and personality as in its layout and the number of cylinders in each engine. Our standard procedure with the beginning of each new development is to thoroughly inspect each engine component thoroughly for every aspect of each part after disassembling and cleaning each part. This is our daily routine and habit. We found this to be the best procedure to find and address the old engines good points, weak points and it helps us to accurately re-evaluate it for its new purpose. We then rebuild it and make it close to the original but a new stronger complete ideal balanced engine. This is the basic procedures of our complete engine development. We now make many complete engines of various brands and we're not only limited to Nissan engines. But our procedures and goals remain the same since day one. We never neglect anyone nor do we risk taking shortcuts, as to make a better engine will always take time to forge every engine to perfection. 

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT 
Our Confidence From Our History Of Researching
Our endless research & development begins with goals for setting new milestones and we are very persistent, eagerly challenging with repeated trial & errors to meet or surpass our strict goals.
We first produce the prototype product from our theories, calculation and experience and then evaluate its potential from extensive bench testing and in actual professional race environment testing. It is of course extremely rare to succeed with the 1st trial prototype, so each new prototype is then based on the results of the 1st prototype. We then persistently repeat that procedure until we achieve satisfactory results before we proceed with mass production. We at times destroy engines from our persistent testing runs and there are times with we cannot get satisfactory performance results so we continue with bench testing throughout the night and even through our weekends too. However the data results extracted from these lengthy hours are valuable assets to us for our future developments. The end result is a complete product which has passed all these enduring processes to bring our products and their cars performance.
